In shock, Antony froze in place. Surely this was a joke? Seeing her do this in front of everyone was unbearable for him. A wave of embarrassment washed over Antony, causing his head to spin.
A blush spread across his cheeks like an overripe tomato, and he ran as fast as he could to get away. The situation seemed hopeless at first, but it soon became unbearable.
He Loved Food
It is no secret that Antony Bayer was addicted to fast food. All the things that most people eat on weekends, Antony ate, including hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, and pizzas. On a daily basis.
Despite his family's best efforts to encourage him to eat healthy foods, Antony would occasionally manage to get his hands on greasy meals. Antony grew in size as he consumed more food. But he simply ignored it. The cuisine was simply too excellent to pass up. What was in store for him was unknown to him.
Bullies
Everyone at school would make fun of Antony's appearance and torment him. Even some of his teachers would subtly but harshly make fun of him.
He made an effort to hide his suffering and shame, but he was falling deeper and deeper into a pit of darkness. He believed that things couldn't possibly get worse, but little did he realize what was in store.
Coping Mechanism
Antony would indulge in fast food and unhealthy snacks every day. He would have two pizzas for lunch, a meat sub for breakfast, and fried chicken for dinner. He couldn't control himself; it was the only way he could endure the vicious schoolyard teasing.
The insulting words stuck to his emotions like grease did to a piece of cooked chicken, despite his attempts to laugh them off. His lowest time was still to come, despite the fact that he felt rejected and totally alone.
The School Dance
As prom drew near, anxious boys and girls gathered in the school hallway in anticipation of being asked to the year's most memorable event. As soon as prom was publicized, Antony rejected the notion of attending. You couldn't possibly have caught him there.
It wasn't until Molly, an attractive girl who could have been on the cover of Vogue, approached him in math class that he realized what the future could hold.
Asking Him Out
With her trademark Hollywood grin glittering in the light, Molly approached Antony. In Antony's stomach, there were butterflies. He had never seen a girl more beautiful than her. “Will you go to the prom with me?” Molly asked. Anthony was at a loss for words. “Erm, yeah, sure,” he said, his face bright red.
Molly grinned broadly before leaving. Antony was giddy inside and bursting with energy. He was overjoyed and knew his mother would be too. Antony had no idea what was about to happen.
The Big Day
The prom day quickly approached, and Antony arranged to rent a posh suit and even a limousine so that he and Molly could show there in style. After all, when do people like him get invited out by girls like Molly? He was aware that he couldn't screw this up.
He had no idea that his entire life was about to crumble into pieces when he said farewell to his folks and got into the limousine to pick up his date Molly.
Nervousness
Antony approached Molly's home in his posh suit and limousine. As he stepped out of the car and walked over to her front door, he could feel his pulse quicken. He knocked on the door as his hands were trembling from his extreme anxiety.
He inhaled deeply as he awaited the arrival of his date. The door eventually opened, and Molly emerged. Antony would be traumatized for the rest of his life as a result of what she did next.
Laughter
Molly, who appeared poised to walk the red carpet in Hollywood, started giggling at Antony. Behind Molly, a number of individuals came and started laughing as well. Did he have crumbs from a cookie on him? Did he leave shaving cream or a smudge behind? What made her laugh?
It turns out that the source of her laughter was much worse than a simple cookie fragment or shaving cream smear.
A Cruel Person
Molly laughed and remarked, "You're just a big joke." After hearing those words, Antony felt his entire world fall apart. He was horrified, wondering how someone could be so heartless.
As soon as he noticed tears starting to fall down his face, he hurried back into the limo and started driving to his house. Antony had never experienced something so cruel.
Getting Home
When Antony arrived home, he raided his parent's fridge who were fortunately out. He wiped away the tears as he gulped down whatever he could get his hands on.
He knew that people would hear about the heartbreaking prank. He was for sure going to be laughing stock at school on Monday. And he was right.
Even More Embarrassment
When he arrived at school the following Monday, his classmates were laughing and retelling the story of him getting publicly rejected.
Thankfully, Antony knew that school was about to finish.. for good. He would never see these people again. He would never have to watch Molly, the girl who left him heartbroken and humiliated, laugh at him with her friends. But Antony was wrong.
300 Pounds
By the time school ended, Antony’s weight had reached nearly 300 pounds. With each slice of pizza and chocolate cake he devoured, he showed no signs of slowing down.
But a trip to the doctor was about to change his life completely.
Visiting The Doctor
What Antony originally thought was going to be a check-up doctor visit ended up being a complete wake-up call. His doctor conducted tests, and the results showed that Antony was about to get diabetes.
The words hit Antony like a ton of bricks. He knew he had to do something about it and make some drastic changes but was it too late?
Had To Make A Change
Antony had to quickly change his lifestyle and eating habits. It was quite literally a case of life or death. For the first time in his life, he went to the gym, and he started to eat healthy too.
It was hard at first, but eventually, Antony got into it. He started to educate himself on nutrition and foods and carefully watched what he ate. He knew it was going to be a long and tedious journey, but it would be worth it. He wasn’t going to give up. No way.
